What is the SIA Instructor Course?

SIA Instructor Course is compulsory to become a professional SIA Trainer, it allows you to teach Security Guarding Course, Door Supervisor Course and CCTV Course. You must be competent in the sector that you wish to teach and for all sectors except close protection, your experience must be from within the UK.

Course Content: Level 3 Award in Education & Training:

Course Content: Level 3 Award in Delivery of Conflict Management:

Unit 1 –
Understanding the Principles of Conflict Management, assess and reduce the risk of violence in the work environment. Identify behaviour that indicates an escalation towards violence and take appropriate measures to avoid or calm and defuse the situation. Identify post incident support and report the circumstances to provide information for personal and organisational learning. Demonstrate their ability to apply knowledge and understanding of Conflict Management into a variety of practical settings.

Unit 2 –
Designing and delivering Conflict Management scenarios design relevant and effective scenarios for training in Conflict Management, deliver and debrief interactive and scenario based sessions in the context of Conflict Management training.

Course Content: Level 3 Award in Delivery of Physical Intervention

Unit 1 –
Knowledge: Assessment for the Knowledge element of this unit is by multiple choice question paper, which must be carried out under exam conditions and a full SIA Identification check completed.

Unit 2-
Demonstration of practical skills: This element is internally assessed by the centre and quality assured by IQ. Please see the guidance on delivery and assessment at the end of the unit. A learner observation assessment record is available at the end of this document.

Course assessment:

Delegates will be tasked to provide one written assignments and one presentation / Demonstration of the technique. Full tutor support will be provided during the learning phase.

Technical skills and under-pinning principles relating to physical intervention techniques. Delegates will be taught how to deliver a range of primary and secondary control skills, pressure point applications and control. Additional techniques such as balance displacement methods, muscular dysfunction tactics and breakaway methods will also be taught.
